Delhi government schools’ e-learning contents have been receiving global recognition during COVID-19 pandemic, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said on Monday. “It’s a matter of pride that online classes…are being accessed in about 20 countries including the UK, the US, Germany, among others,” he further said, adding that Delhi government “devised plan to minimise teaching-learning loss” amid pandemic.

Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said on Thursday that schools in the national capital won’t reopen till the state government is convinced about students’ safety. “There is no plan to reopen schools. We’re hopeful that a vaccine will be available soon,” he added. Positivity rate in Delhi has come down to 8.5% in the last three weeks, he further said.

UP CM Yogi Adityanath has directed the chief secretary of the state to write to the National Testing Agency to declare Akanksha Singh as NEET 2020 topper along with Odisha’s Soyeb Aftab. The topper of the Joint Entrance Exam (Mains) in Assam has been arrested for allegedly using a proxy to write the entrance test, Guwahati Police said. The candidate, Neel Nakshatra Das, has been arrested along with his father, who is a doctor, and three employees of a testing centre. The candidate had scored 99.8 percentile without sitting for the exam.

After receiving complaints about students being stopped from attending online classes due to fees, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has issued a circular saying that education of the students should not be stopped in any case. “If the school doesn’t do so, we will have to consult with our higher officials for taking legal action against the school,” the circular said.
