To reintegrate school dropouts into the educational system, Delhi Police introduces the “Nayi Disha” scheme.

In order to offer a variety of support services, including academic help, emotional counseling, and admissions facilitation, police officers are also collaborating with neighborhood schools, non-governmental organizations, and social professionals.

Delhi Police has started a community outreach program called “Nayi Disha – A Path Back to Learning” to reintegrate out-of-school children into the educational system in an attempt to lower school dropout rates.

Police officers are going to school dropouts’ homes as part of the program, speaking with kids and their families face-to-face to find out why they left school and to persuade them to go back, according to officials.

According to them, the initiative demonstrates Delhi Police’s dedication to making sure all children have a second opportunity at education. Law enforcement is not the only aspect of this. It’s about developing trust and mentoring,” stated Abhishek Dhania, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) (East).

In order to offer a variety of support services, including academic help, emotional counseling, and admissions facilitation, police officers are also collaborating with neighborhood schools, non-governmental organizations, and social professionals.

According to the DCP, a number of children who had left school because of financial difficulties, personal failures, or domestic problems have already started going back to school. He added that the program signifies a change in policing from protection to empowerment, saying, “We are not just knocking on doors, we are opening them.”

Delhi police intend to extend the campaign to further districts in light of its success.
