New Delhi, August 16, 2025 — The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the Round 1 results of the NEET UG Counselling 2025 on August 12, nearly 12 days later than scheduled. The delay was caused by multiple extensions of the choice-locking facility after repeated requests from candidates.
With the Round 1 reporting process already underway from August 14, 2025, Round 2 registration — which was originally planned for August 12 — is now expected to begin on August 22, 2025. Once registration opens, eligible students can complete the process on the official MCC portal: mcc.nic.in.
Who Can Participate in Round 2?
Candidates who missed out or wish to upgrade their seats from Round 1 can participate in Round 2. Importantly, no fresh registration is required for students who:
Registered in Round 1 but did not secure a seat.
Had their Round 1 seat cancelled during verification.
Opted for an upgrade.
Were allotted a seat but did not join.
Surrendered their seat within the permitted timeline.
Step-by-Step Counselling Process
Each round of NEET UG counselling follows a standard process:
- Registration – Fresh registration (if applicable) with fee payment.
- Choice Filling & Locking – Candidates select and arrange preferred colleges/courses.
- Seat Allotment – Based on NEET rank, preferences, and reservation policies.
- Result Declaration – Allotment results published on MCC’s website.
- Physical Reporting – Candidates must report to the allotted college with original documents and fees.
- Upgrade Option – Students can apply for Round 3 upgrades after joining Round 2.

Before reporting to colleges, students must download their allotment letter from the MCC website and carry all original documents along with photocopies.
