The Banaras Hindu University (BHU), one of India’s most prestigious central universities, has officially opened its admission portal for undergraduate (UG) courses for the academic year 2025-26. Eligible students who appeared in the CUET UG 2025 examination can now apply for admission into various UG programs across BHU.
The online application process began this week and will continue until 11:59 PM on July 31, 2025. Interested candidates can apply through BHU’s official portals — bhu.ac.in and bhucuet.samarth.edu.in.
Over 13 Lakh Students Eligible to Apply
According to the university, more than 1.3 million candidates who appeared for CUET UG 2025 are eligible to participate in the BHU admission process. The registration window will remain open for 15 days, giving students across the country an opportunity to secure admission in their desired course and subject group.

General/OBC-NCL/EWS: ₹500
SC/ST/PwD: ₹250
Applicants are required to submit their CUET scores, academic details, and course preferences during the online application process.
415 UG Courses & 1553 Subject Groups Available
This year, BHU is offering admissions across a wide academic spectrum with 415 undergraduate programs and 1,553 subject groups. The university has implemented the Combined Allotment Program (CAP UG 2025) to streamline the process and ensure transparency.
Professor Bhaskar Bhattacharya, the Admission Coordinator, noted that the Bachelor of Arts (BA) program alone has over 282 subject combinations. Other available programs include:
BSc (Science)
BCom (Commerce)
BFA (Fine Arts)
BPA (Performing Arts)
BSc Agriculture
These courses are offered across BHU’s main campus, South Campus, Women’s College, and various affiliated colleges.
PG Admission Update: 5,000+ Seats Already Filled
In parallel, BHU has successfully completed the first phase of postgraduate (PG) admissions, with more than 5,000 PG seats already filled. The second phase of PG admissions will begin on July 18, 2025, to fill the remaining 2,500 seats.
