Jamia Millia Islamia raises tuition for all courses by up to 41% in 2025–2026
For the academic year 2025–2026, Jamia Millia Islamia in New Delhi has announced fee increases ranging from 16 to 41 percent for a variety of courses. Tuition costs have increased significantly when comparing the most recent prospectus to the one from the prior year.
The annual fees for the Department of Persian have increased from ₹6,700 to ₹9,475—a 41.41 percent rise. Next in line is the Department of Arabic, which raised annual fees from ₹7,200 to ₹9,875, a 37.15 percent increase. The cost of foreign language courses, such as the BA in Turkish and other languages, has also increased by 37.15%.
The cost of social science programs, including four-year BA programs, BCom programs, and MA and BA programs in Political Science, has increased by 31.9 percent to ₹9,875 annually.
The cost of science programs, such as BSc, Geography, Mathematics, and Physics, has increased by 34.29%, from ₹7,800 to ₹10,475 annually.
Additionally, professional course expenses have gone up. The annual cost of MTech programs has increased by 16.48 percent to ₹21,375, while B Tech programs have increased by 19.04 percent, from ₹16,150 to ₹19,225.
The cost of law programs, such as LLM and BA LLB, has increased by 19%, from ₹15,000 to ₹17,850 per year.
Students may experience more financial difficulty as a result of the tuition fee increases for all programs.
In the meantime, JMI has increased its use of Common University Entrance Test results for admissions and announced the introduction of 14 new courses.
CUET merit will be used to accept students to 25 programs this year, up from 20 last year. These programs include 9 undergraduate, 5 postgraduate, 8 diploma, and 3 advanced diploma courses.

The four-year Bachelor of Design (B.Des) program, the four-year Bachelor of Science (Hons) Computer Science program, the Design and Innovation Certificate, the Textile Design Certificate, and the Certificate in Self-Financed Evening are the new courses offered at JMI. PG Diploma in Plumbing, Lifts, and Fire Safety (Self-Financed); Self-Financed Evening Certificate in Graphic Art (Printmaking); Self-financed MFA (Curatorial Practices), MFA (Art Management), MFA (Conceptual Art Practice), MFA (Graphic Art) (Printmaking), Self-financed Certificate (Art & Aesthetics), Self-financed Certificate (Creative Photography), Self-financed Certificate (Calligraphy), and Self-financed Certificate (Art Appreciation & Art Writing).
