Gujarat Expands RTE Admission & Financial Aid

The only applicants who can take part in this phase are those who were not given a spot in the first or second round. No new applications or modifications to previous school preferences will be accepted through the portal.

After more than 9,000 places in unaided private schools in the state became available, the Gujarat Education Department launched the third round of admissions under the Right to Education (RTE) Act 2025 on June 2.

A significant portion of these open spots—5,263 to be exact—belong to English-medium schools, which account for over 60% of the remaining seats. There are 1,920 vacancies in Hindi-medium schools, 1,800 in Gujarati, 105 in Odia, 39 in Urdu, and 30 in Marathi.

The only applicants who can take part in this phase are those who were not given a spot in the first or second round. No new applications or modifications to previous school preferences will be accepted through the platform.

Many families did not proceed with admission confirmations, even though the early phases attracted a lot of attention, especially in English-medium universities. Even when fees are reimbursed by the government under the RTE scheme, families from economically disadvantaged backgrounds may be discouraged from enrolling their children in prestigious schools due to financial, social, or cultural reservations, according to education department officials.

How to apply for the third round of Gujarat RTE (2025)

  • Only those who were not given a place in Rounds 1 or 2 are eligible to apply. No revisions or new applications are permitted.
  • Visit the website https://rte.orpgujarat.com.
  • Put in your birthdate and application number.
  • The portal will show any open seats if you qualify.
  • Download it from your dashboard if it’s available.
  • Bring the necessary paperwork and the allocation letter when you visit the school.
  • Originals must be submitted for final admission approval.

By facilitating their admission to private schools, the RTE program seeks to expand educational possibilities for disadvantaged pupils.
