The University of Birmingham has announced scholarships for programs starting in September

University of Birmingham: More than 50 scholarships will be awarded to eligible Indian students based on academic merit. These scholarships can be applied for until May 2025.

In honor of its 125 Years of Excellence, the University of Birmingham has unveiled several scholarships aimed at Indian students. These scholarships, which provide funding of £4,000 to £5,000, are applicable to postgraduate taught (PGT) Master’s programs commencing in September 2025.

More than 50 scholarships will be awarded to eligible Indian students based on their academic merit. These scholarships can be applied for until May 2025. According to the official website, the £4,000 scholarship is intended for international students enrolled with the University in September 2025, while awards of up to £5,000 are available for students specifically from India.

£4,000 Awards: Open to all eligible students enrolling in most postgraduate Master’s programs, with the exception of MSc Management, MSc International Business, MSc Marketing, and MBA programs. The number of £4,000 scholarships granted has no limit.

£5,000 Awards: These awards are exclusively for students who have been selected through the India Chancellor’s Scholarship programmes and have demonstrated exceptional achievement. This award is applicable to all Master’s programs, including those in business disciplines. The scholarship registration has not yet begun. It is necessary for candidates to check out the official site of the University.

From the applications for the India Chancellor’s Scholarship, a shortlist will be created, and students will be selected for that shortlist based on their academic merit.

University of Birmingham: Eligibility 

  • The applicant must apply and receive an offer for a taught Masters degree at the University of Birmingham (UK campus) in the 2025/26 academic year.
  • The student needs to reside in one of the chosen countries: Chile, Kenya, India, Iran, Malaysia, Ghana, Egypt, Pakistan, Mexico, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, and Sri Lanka, among others. Please visit the University’s official website and check the scholarship section for a complete list.
  • The individual must be classified as an overseas fee payer for tuition by the University, and begin full-time studies at the UK campus in September or October 2025.
  • The scholarship does not cover the following programmes: MBA, MSc Management, MSc Marketing, and MSc International Business.

University of Birmingham: Application Process 

Students who qualify for the £4,000 Scholarship will have this sum automatically subtracted from their tuition fees. The only requirement for candidates is to pay the admission deposit by the deadline indicated in their offer letter. “You don’t need to apply for a scholarship separately—just choose your Master’s course!” stated the website.
