Bill to control coaching centres gets approval from Rajasthan cabinet

Minister Jogaram Patel stated, “Students sometimes take their own lives because of stress…we want students to study and compete without facing mental health problems.”

The Rajasthan cabinet approved the Rajasthan Coaching Centre Control and Regulation Bill to regulate coaching centres and endorsed the Rajasthan Skill Policy 2025 to enhance youth skilling and employment. On Saturday, the Rajasthan cabinet approved the Rajasthan Coaching Centre Control and Regulation Bill to regulate coaching centres and endorsed the Rajasthan Skill Policy 2025 to enhance youth skilling and employment.

After the cabinet meeting, parliamentary minister Jogaram Patel briefed the media, stating, “It is unfortunate that students sometimes take their own lives due to stress. It is our desire for students to study and compete without encountering mental health issues.

He stated that the assembly will receive the bill next week. Coaching centres with over fifty students will be included in the bill, which will feature measures like penalties and cancellation of registration for rule violations.

Patel stated that the government will introduce a Rajasthan Skill Policy 2025 focused on upskilling and reskilling individuals, promoting entrepreneurship, and creating new job opportunities for young people.

The number of unemployed youth in the state is increasing. The government has pledged to provide four lakh jobs in five years and create employment opportunities, which is why we have this policy. There are 20 lakh youth who can be employed but lack the appropriate skills. We aim for the youth to contribute to the development of the state through suitable skills programs.

Patel also conveyed his disappointment regarding the absence of Congress MLAs at the Constitution Club inauguration.

“In a democracy, opinions differ. It is regrettable, however, to make such programs—whose purpose is the public good—political. The Congress’ decision to boycott the programme was inappropriate. It was neither an inauguration nor involved placing a plaque; it was simply a havan, which our tradition calls for when starting something new… all political parties, including Congress, had agreed to attend the gathering, but only Congress was absent today,” he said.
