Class 10 and 12 Board exams: Examination Specifics
On the inaugural day of the CBSE Board exams, Class 10 students will take the English (Communicative) and English (Language and Literature) papers from 10:30 am until 1:30 pm.
In the same shift, students of Class 12 will take the Entrepreneurship exam.
Strict Entry Guidelines for CBSE Exam Centres
As per CBSE officials, students will not be permitted to enter the examination centres after 10 AM and will not be allowed to leave before 1:30 PM, once the exam has concluded. Regular students have been asked to carry their admit cards along with their school identity cards, while private students need to present their admit cards and any government-issued photo identity proof. Additionally, regular students are required to wear school uniforms, while private students can wear light clothing.
Items banned at CBSE Exam Centres
Inside the examination centres, communication devices including mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, earphones, microphones, smartwatches, wallets, goggles, handbags, and pouches are strictly forbidden.
“It is essential that Board exams are conducted in a free and fair way. CBSE Chairperson Rahul Singh stated, “The examination department of CBSE is always working on process enhancements, ranging from creating model question papers to guaranteeing the security and safe transport of the actual question papers to examination centres.” He also extended his best wishes to the students and encouraged them to perform without added pressure.
Increased security provisions with CCTV monitoring
Sanyam Bhardwaj, the CBSE Controller of Examination, indicated that closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras will be installed at examination centres to uphold the integrity of the exams.
Bhardwaj informed HT that each exam room will accommodate 24 students, with two invigilators overseeing them. In September 2023, CBSE released a CCTV policy aimed at preventing and addressing unfair practices during examinations.
Assistant superintendents will oversee the CCTV footage for every 10 rooms at the examination centers. All occurrences of unfair practices will be reported, and measures will be implemented. According to Bhardwaj, “Schools that do not provide CCTV footage when requested will be considered to be engaged in unfair practices.”
Optimized procedure for confirming marks and re-evaluating
The marks verification process has been updated by CBSE, enabling students to directly request photocopies of their answer books for mistake review. They can ask for verification or re-evaluation of their marks based on the findings.
