Amazon has announced 500 scholarships, each valued at 2 lakhs, for female students pursuing undergraduate studies in Computer Science Engineering or a related discipline.
During the ‘Careers of the Future’ summit in Delhi, it was announced that the Amazon Future Engineer program has trained 3 million government school students and more than 20,000 teachers across 272 districts in 8 Indian states.
Leaders from industry and public policy convened at the 2025 ‘Careers of the Future’ Summit in Delhi, organized by Amazon as part of its Amazon Future Engineer Program, to deliberate on vital elements of computer science education.
The initiative is aimed at students from grade 6 and up living in tier 2 cities. Its goal is to close the gender gap in the tech industry.
Amazon is providing 500 merit-based scholarships, each valued at INR 2 lakhs and spanning four years, for female students pursuing undergraduate degrees in computer science engineering or related disciplines.
According to the press release, the program offers students access to captivating, multilingual educational resources in seven Indian languages—Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Oriya, and Marathi. By incorporating advanced computer science modules, the program enables students to create complex applications while promoting a deeper comprehension of basic AI principles, coding fundamentals, and technology’s life-changing potential through hands-on project-oriented learning.
Concerning the summit:
The Summit investigated how computer science can help equip children for future professions, pinpointed effective methods for expanding high-quality computer science education nationwide, and scrutinized the essential functions of government, industry, and educational bodies in closing the divide between education and career prospects.
